Vineet Kacker : Grace and Poise

Uma Nair

Vineet Kacker the ceramist once described his works as originating from a deep appreciation of history and spiritual elements. This artistic passion, rooted in tradition, was the launching point that propelled him to eminence in India, and then to the international contemporary ceramic art world. Vineet’s solo showing at Gallery Art Positive became a journey that was poised at the crossing of cultures and centuries. I have always felt, Vineet the artist has on the one hand been filled with fervent passion gazing back at the momentous 20th century of architectural and archeological history, while at the same time he
looking ahead to the future with great anticipation and aesthetic fervour. The artist conveys this tension upon the canvas of thought with a striking use of shifting compositional multiple facets in his works that look like relief tablets textured with the dictates of time.
